  • Friends & Family in BGC: Filipino BBQ, Pugon Specials, and All-Day Classics
  • Traditionally, Filipino barbecue is a staple in every celebration, especially fiestas, beach parties, and even birthdays! It is one of the key ingredients to a flavorful kamayan or boodle fight and a lovely merienda or snack that you can find along the streets of a Filipino neighborhood.

Add a Filipino birthday spaghetti with hotdog and marshmallow to the mix, and you just completed a Pinoy traditional celebration!

In Taguig City, a Filipino all-day dining restaurant proudly serves a range of elevated char-grilled barbecue classics (and even a Birthday Spaghetti) that you won’t usually see in restaurants around the Metro. This is Friends & Family at Bonifacio High Street in BGC, Taguig!

Friends and Family gathers people together to dine over Filipino comfort food favorites. However, aside from classic Pinoy dishes such as sinigang, kare-kare, sisig, bulalo, and more that are elevated using high-quality ingredients, what makes the Filipino restaurant different from the others is their barbeque and wood-fired pugon specials!

For example, Friends and Family serves BBQ Pork Tenga (pig ears), Isaw Bilog, Isaw Manok, and Special Pork BBQ that were char-grilled over hot coals and wood, lending them a smoky flavor. Aside from these streetfood classics, they also serve Grilled Catfish, Bangus Inasal, Liempo, and Chicken Leg.

Their pugon offerings, on the other hand, are hearty meats cooked over an oven or furnace (pugon). Among Friends and Family’s pugon specials are Lechon Baboy (pork) and Lechon Baka (beef) with a special sauce and atchara (pickled green papaya) on the side.

However, if you want something familiar, you can always stick to the classics. What’s great is that Friends and Family uses premium ingredients such as U.S. beef belly for their bulalo and kare-kare, salmon for their sinigang, and bacon to wrap their embutido with.

Enjoy these and more inside their bright and cheerful restaurant that will make your dining experience more enjoyable for you, your friends, and your family!

For those who want to share stories over flavorful food, you may also want to sit at the corner tables where various greeneries will help lighten up your mood.
