  • Aozora Japanese Restaurant in Tagaytay: Pioneer of Authentic Japanese Cuisine in the City
  • Updated as of December 10, 2019

Known for being the first to offer authentic Japanese cuisine in Tagaytay City, Aozora Japanese Restaurant, located along the Tagaytay-Calamba Road, first opened its doors in 2015 as Aozora Japanese Cafe + Bistro.

At present, the restaurant currently has five branches across Tagaytay.

The name “Aozora” translates to “blue sky” and was inspired by Tagaytay’s beautiful blue sky.

The restaurant serves a variety of Japanese dishes that are carefully crafted by Chef Seiji Kamura, Aozora’s head chef. Their menu includes Japanese favorites including Beef Gyudon (Php 320). This well-loved dish is comprised of succulent beef, onion, eggs, and rice.

Another foodie favorite that you can find at Aozora is Chicken Karaage (Php 290). This juicy dish is everything that everyone loves about fried chicken but with a Japanese touch.

It is also worth mentioning that this particular dish is famous among kids, making Aozora an ideal place for families to dine as there will be something for the little ones as well.

If you are looking for a filling meal that will fuel you for the day ahead, consider sampling their Bento Box (Php 595). This dish, complete with rice, salad, and your main dish, will surely be a filling meal.

A dish that is worth noting is the Aozora Bulalo Ramen (Php 320). This ramen is a unique twist to Bulalo—a Filipino dish that Tagaytay is known for.

The dish is a good mix of Japanese and Filipino flavors that represents traditional ramen techniques and the Filipino palate.
