  • Kiapo at Okada Manila Serves Delectable Filipino Favorites as Homage to Quiapo
  • Okada Manila’s Kiapo mirrors the vibrant cultures as well as the regional cuisines present in Quiapo, a district of Manila always teeming with life.

If you haven’t been to the place yet, one must know that Quiapo is home to a vast selection of food carts and hole-in-the-wall diners offering city dwellers a variety of home-cooked dishes and filling meals.

Kiapo took inspiration from this, creating rice bowls that are thoroughly reminiscent of the Filipino culture by the combination of local jasmine and brown rice varieties and lavish delicacies.

Your mouth will surely water with their Daing na Bangus Belly rice bowl (Php 390). This bowl is filled with the goodness of fresh, deboned milkfish marinated copiously in garlic and vinegar on top of rice with a serving of egg, greens, and atsara (papaya relish).

The classic tapsilog that everyone loves is also a favorite among the rice bowls in Kiapo’s menu. Their Beef Tapa rice bowl (Php 420) is composed of tender and flavorful tapa (thinly sliced beef curated in soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and sugar) served on top of rice.

You can choose from six varieties of rice to include in your meal, namely bagoong rice, brown rice, garlic rice, jasmine rice, java rice, and longganiza fried rice.

Aside from the rice bowls, their menu also includes a selection of snacks, noodles, and congee–a popular Asian take on traditional rice porridge.

Dining at Kiapo will make you reminisce of home-cooked meals and warm dinner tables with family and friends. They succeed in bringing the authentic Filipino dining experience to their customers not just by their food but also by the sense of comfort and familiarity that it envokes.
