CLASSY INTERIORS. It’s similar to what you’d find in restaurants in Singapore.
Awarded as one of the best restaurants in 2010, 2013 and 2014, the restaurant first established itself in the Philippines in 2008 in Malate, Manila and has branched itself in three more locations namely; Cebu, Binondo and Newport, Pasay City.
HAINANESE CHICKEN. A Singaporean staple, this one went for Php 750 for a half-sized serving. It’s at Php 1,388 for a whole bird.
Known for their traditional Singaporean cuisine, Tao Yuan boasts their wide variety of flavorful seafood dishes. A lot of their items are priced depending on the season and can range from Php 160 to over Php 2,000 apart from their desserts and appetizers.
Their branch in Malate, Manila is sophisticated and elegantly designed with hanging chandeliers and their classy table setting. Upon sitting down, you are served complimentary boiled, unshelled peanuts and hot tea.
Aside from their seafood dishes, some of their house specialties include their pecking duck, Beef tenderloin with special sauce and of course their signature Singaporean Hainanese chicken which we got to try. Boneless and generously served, the Hainanese chicken is savory and mild which is why it came with three different sauces; ginger oil paste, chili sauce, and oyster sauce which you can combine to your personal taste although we recommend mixing all three sauces together for a unique flavor.
There is no question why this restaurant has been dubbed one of the best in the Philippines so go out and try their authentic Singaporean cuisine at any of their branches!
