  • The BWB Makati: Bringing Authentic A5 Wagyu and Japanese Hospitality to Salcedo Village
  • The BWB Makati introduces a luxury Japanese yakiniku experience built on two main principles: authentic food quality and thoughtful hospitality.

Its concept was inspired by the reasons many Filipino and international travelers repeatedly return to Japan. Beyond the country’s cuisine, the team recognized omotenashi, the Japanese practice of providing sincere and attentive service without expecting anything in return.

At The BWB Makati, this philosophy is reflected not only in the food but also in the restaurant’s atmosphere, service, and attention to detail. The team aims to anticipate what guests may need before they ask, allowing them to relax and enjoy the meal at their own pace.

Located along a quiet street in Salcedo Village, the 40-seat restaurant specializes in genuine Japanese A5 Wagyu. The location was selected after considering several areas in Makati, BGC, and Alabang, with Salcedo Village ultimately offering the accessibility and calm dining environment suited to the concept.

    A Seasonal Journey Through Japan

The BWB Makati’s course menus are designed as a culinary journey through different regions of Japan. Its appetizers change throughout the year to represent the country’s four seasons, incorporating ingredients and preparations associated with summer, autumn, winter, and spring.

The Premium Course (Php 13,500 per person) begins with a Drinkable Salad and Assorted Seasonal Appetizers. These are followed by Grilled Bluefin Tuna Ohtoro with Bite-size Rice and Grilled Eel with Bite-size Rice.

The meal concludes with a choice between Crispy Rice with Ankake or Cold Noodles Reimen, followed by dessert with your choice of either apple or melon ice cream.

Each course is planned to introduce different flavors, textures, and regional influences while keeping authentic A5 Wagyu at the center of the experience.

    Japanese Yakiniku Experts

Before helping open The BWB Makati, Chef Toda trained for several years in Japan under Mr. Takano, who serves as the restaurant’s consultant, supervisor, and culinary overseer.

Mr. Takano has produced premium yakiniku restaurants in Vietnam, Singapore, Italy, and the United States. His involvement in The BWB Makati extends beyond the kitchen, covering operational planning, business development, and the restaurant’s overall direction.

The preparation for the Makati opening took approximately two years. The chef later moved to the Philippines to support the launch and work closely with the local team.

Before welcoming guests, the staff underwent around a month and a half of culinary and service training. The program combined the attentiveness of Japanese hospitality with the natural warmth and friendliness of Filipino service.

    Private Dining for Special Occasions

For more intimate celebrations and private gatherings, The BWB Makati also offers a VIP Room that can accommodate up to eight guests. The space provides a more private setting for birthdays, anniversaries, business dinners, and other special occasions while allowing guests to enjoy the restaurant’s Japanese dining experience away from the main dining area.

The VIP Room comes with a room service fee of Php 30,000, which is separate from and excludes the selected course menu rate. With its limited capacity, the room is especially suited for small groups looking for a more exclusive and personal dining experience at The BWB Makati.

Through authentic Japanese A5 Wagyu, seasonal courses, and carefully considered service, The BWB Makati offers guests a dining experience shaped by the same food quality and hospitality they might encounter at a premium restaurant in Japan. It is positioned as a destination for intimate meals, celebrations, and special occasions in Makati.
