  • Masajiro Burger in Makati: Fukuoka’s Iconic Gourmet Burger Brand
  • Masajiro Burger brings a piece of Fukuoka to Makati, introducing a burger concept rooted in Japanese craftsmanship, bakery tradition, and carefully developed recipes. Now located on the 2nd floor of Glorietta 2, the brand marks its first-ever overseas branch and its first location outside Fukuoka, brought to the Philippines by Long Table Group Inc.

Its story began in December 2014 in Onga Town, Fukuoka, a quiet rural town between Fukuoka City and Kitakyushu. What started as a small neighborhood bakery was founded by Masajiro, a baker, together with his childhood classmate and business partner. Their goal was simple: to bake bread that the local community could be proud of.

In 2016, after being inspired by burger buns they had tried overseas, the two began experimenting with their own burgers. Years of recipe testing eventually led to the creation of their signature Golden Buns. By 2017, the bakery began selling burgers at its counter, quickly becoming a local favorite. This success paved the way for the first official Masajiro Burger shop in Onga in March 2019, followed by expansion across Fukuoka and Kitakyushu.

What makes Masajiro Burger special is its strong connection to its bakery roots. Its Golden Buns are hand-kneaded daily and made with an original wheat blend using ingredients imported from Japan, giving each burger a soft, chewy, and distinctively satisfying bite.

For its Philippine menu, Masajiro Burger also offers something exclusive: while its Japan branches serve pork and beef combinations, the Manila branch uses Japanese Wagyu beef exclusively across all burger patties. Each burger is further elevated by its signature Golden Honey Mayo, a house-made condiment that adds a rich and balanced finish.

Among its recommended dishes is the Double Cheese Burger (Php 599), made with double Wagyu patties, double cheese, and signature house-made sauces.

Another standout is the MASAMAX (Php 545), which layers Wagyu beef with a deep-fried mochi mozzarella patty for a uniquely indulgent bite.

For those craving chicken, the Spicy Chicken Cutlet (Php 299) features a crunchy cutlet seasoned with Masajiro Burger’s house-made togarashi spice mix.

With its second Philippine branch set to open at SM Podium by the 3rd quarter of 2026, Masajiro Burger continues to share its Fukuoka-born burger experience with more diners in Manila.
