LZM Restaurant in Cavite: Serving Home-Cooked Specialties Since the 90s
There are many restaurants in Silang serving all kinds of cuisines and specialties, but one has always stayed true to their roots. LZM Restaurant Lutong Bahay Specialties was first established in Silang way back in 1997 and has been the home of the famed fried boneless bangus (milkfish).
LZM stands for the name of the three sisters who own the restaurant, namely Luzviminda, Zenaida, and Manolita.

Zenaida, fondly called Zeny, is the one who is mainly involved in the business. Her children now own the three other branches of LZM in Sta. Rosa, Tagaytay, and Imus. Despite her age, Zeny is still hands-on with their Silang branch.

The specialty of the restaurant is the Fried Boneless Bangus with hefty and juicy meat. The milkfish is sourced from Pangasinan, a coastal province in northern Luzon famous for its production of robust and delicious milkfish.
One serving of the dish can be shared by two to four people because of its big size. The idea and recipe for this classic dish are also from Zeny’s, who took care of the deboning process of the fish in the early days of the restaurant.

Aside from the boneless bangus, the restaurant serves scrumptious lutong bahay (home-cooked) dishes you might be familiar with if you are an avid fan of Filipino food. All of these come in huge servings, which make it ideal for families and big groups.
A Filipino meal will not be complete without a soup dish like Bulalo, composed of slow-cooked beef shank with vegetables and corn.

Another favorite in LZM is their Kare-Kare, a stew of meat and vegetables in peanut sauce. Their version has a bit of sweet flavor to it, which can be balanced with bagoong (shrimp paste).

They also serve a hefty plate of Chicharon Bulaklak or deep-fried pork intestines. This is best paired with spicy vinegar and a cold bottle of beer or even rice!

Eating at LZM Restaurant will take you back to old times of noisy yet oddly comforting weekend potlucks with your family. Better yet, if you ever find yourself in Silang, take your family here and make new memories together!
