    If you’re afraid you might get infected with the coronavirus during flight when you travel abroad, Japan Airlines (JAL) will give you peace of mind because they just extended their COVID-19 Cover until 2022!

    The promo period of JAL COVID-19 Cover, a complimentary service provided by JAL that includes compensation for new COVID-19 virus infections, has been extended until 2022! This is applicable to all eligible international flight passengers. Please check the details below.

    “JAL Corona Cover” is a service provided in partnership with insurance company Allianz Travel.

    For a limited time, they will be covering a traveller’s medical, inspection, and quarantine expenses if they tested positive for COVID-19 during flight.

    In addition, if you think you are infected at your travel destination, we have set up a contact point where you can consult with us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from anywhere in the world.

    Service details of JAL COVID-19 Cover

    Eligible boarding period: December 23, 2020 – March 31, 2022 (Departure)

    Customer: Provided free of charge when using JAL international flights (JAL flights and JAL-operated flights). Not applicable to other companies’ flights or codeshare flights.

    Service fee/application: This service is free of charge as it is automatically granted when you purchase a JAL ticket. You do not need to pre-register.

    Compensation package: They will compensate you if you tested positive for COVID-19 while travelling in one of their flights or if you are suspected of being infected and are requested to quarantine.

    ·Hospitalization cost for treating COVID-19. Up to €150,000 per applicable period

    ·Isolation accommodation expenses related to quarantine. Up to €100 euros/day (up to 14 days) per subject (coronavirus-positive testers only).

    ·Medical evacuation (return support) expenses related to returning to the country of residence if the doctor deems it necessary. Up to €1,500 per person.

    ·Repatriation of remains in case of death due to COVID-19. Up to €1,500 per person.
