  • The 10th Hotel Suppliers Show Is a One-Stop Exhibition for Every Hotel Need
  • The 10th Hotel Suppliers Show opened its doors to the public last September 19, 2019 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, with the presence of prominent personalities in both the hospitality and trade industries.

The opening ceremony of the 10th Hotel Suppliers Show was held on the second floor of SMX Manila, where various guests hailing from different industries convened for the important event.

Before the formalities, Escola de Samba de Manila together with Empress Tribe de Manila first set the place’s energy on high stead with their performances.

Executives and government officials started gracing the podium one after the other with their respective speeches.

Essentially, the kind gesture of acknowledging the presence of everyone in the open hall was done by Ms. Carmen Regala, vice president of the Chamber of Furniture Industries of the Philippines.

The welcome remarks delivered by Mr. Eduardo “Duque” Zuluaga, chairman of the said organization, noted that this hospitality show offers everything that one may see when a hotel is turned upside down.

Afterward, Mr. Zuluaga presided the presentation of loyalty awards to the exhibitors, who have shown “untiring support and trust” dating back to its initial launch.

Once all plaques were given out, the first to give an inspirational message was Dr. Henry Lim Bon Liong, president of the Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who was preceded by Dr. Domingo “Dominic” Tolentino, Jr., director of DTI’s Consumer Protection and Advocacy Bureau.

Dr. Tolentino pressed on the issue of sustainable consumption and production, as well as being conscious of the choices and decisions one usually make. “Someone must start something,” he said. “And at this point, we really need to make a move in order to preserve what is left.”

Moreover, he encouraged the guests to join the Consumer Welfare Month in October to spread the rights and responsibilities of consumers and to also protect the people, especially those in the marginalized region because they deserve the same respect and protection coming from the government.

Senator Koko Pimentel also graced the opening ceremony with his presence, whose keynote address bore the weight of fair trade.

“Fair trade means we buy from you, also buy more from us,” Sen. Pimentel said, eventually referring to how there are so many countries who trade with the Philippines but the figures tend to be “lopsided” in favor of others. “The Philippines is your friend, let us help each other.”

Once the ribbons were simultaneously cut by the key people signaling the official start of the three-day exhibit, they personally toured around the numerous booths.

The 10th Hotel Suppliers Show together with other exhibitions like Beauty and Wellness Manila, Corporate Gifts and Premium Expo, Events Tech and Suppliers Expo, and Food and Beverages Suppliers Show ran until September 21.

If you were not able to visit the ginormous show this year, you can now mark any day from September 24 to 26 of 2020 to finally be part of the Hotel Suppliers Show!
