    We have listed art exhibits running for the whole month of December:

     

    Peksman! (Until December 15)

    Using “peksman” is similar to giving a gesture of a “pinky swear” to assure someone of a promise. Peksman! is an art exhibit that will feature works of professor and artist Marco Ruben Malto and his approach in the widespread of fake news circulating the country. This exhibit will also highlight works of art that will separate facts from fiction and will expose the truth how Filipinos end up being intellectual zombies controlled by those in power. The exhibit will take place at the Sining Kamalig Art Gallery, Araneta Center Cubao, Quezon City until December 15, 2017. Admission is free of charge.

    Framing the spectacle of Space (Until December 29)

    The Metropolitan Museum of Manila has been a significant architectural space in the country. In partnership with the National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA), an exhibit will be presented to commemorate the works of Juan Arellano who succeeded as an architect, designer, urban planner, and a painter in his lifetime. This exhibit will also highlight archival photos of architectural structures, plans, and building designs made by the artist himself. The exhibit will take place at the Metropolitan Museum of Manila, BSP Complex, Roxas Blvd., Malate, Manila, until December 29, 2017. Admission is free of charge.

     

    The Weight of Words: An Alphabet of Human Rights (Until January 21, 2018)

    With a number of cases of collateral damage and human right violations that made noise to catch the public’s attention where extrajudicial killings deem itself part of an ongoing norm, The Weight of Words: An Alphabet of Human Rights aims to bring together artists and thought leaders in conversation with the public to map out the terrain of issues and stimulate a public discourse in the most participative, accessible and creative way.

    The exhibit will be showcasing works of various artists contemplating on the true meaning and value of human rights through the creative use of the alphabet. The exhibit will take place at the CCP Complex, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City until January 21, 2018. Admission is free of charge.
