Cinemalaya Film Festival

It has several categories but recently it opened new categories such like Festival’s Best, Asian Showcase and Documentaries. It is also one of the longest running film festivals in the Philippines. Cinemalaya shall be expected this August.

Quezon City International Film Festival (QCinema)

Aspiring directors also sees opportunity in showcasing their works in this film festival, which is open to categories such as short films, Asian films, and movies about the LGBT community. It also hosts a category for highly-acclaimed international films. QCinema is coming this October.

Cinema One Originals

Cinema One is open for local and foreign films alike and is owned by giant network ABS-CBN. It only has two categories. It will come on this November.

This festival is geared towards every aspiring Filipino filmmaker. Independent films showcased in this festival are known to be thought-provoking and audience-friendly, an article from Spot.ph says. This year, CineFilipino Film Festival is expected to come in November.
