Twelve years since it was born, the Cinema One Originals Film Festival continues to expand as it brings 10 new full-length films made by some of the best and most notable Filipino filmmakers of today.

This year, the competing films will be screened in more theatres from all over the Metro, thus reaching a wider audience – not only those who are into the indie filmmaking industry, but also those who want to discover the other side of the Filipino films. C1 Originals will also be bringing some of the best of the recent years’ C1 Originals, as well as ones from the World Cinema.

The 12th Cinema One Originals Film Festival will be running from November 14-22 and will be screened in selected cinemas. Here are the films which will be competing this year:

    1. Lily by Keith Deligero

Lily is a story of a woman who was presumed to be a monster, causing fear among the people in the place that she was from. This film is based on a Cebuano folklore, and is said to be different from the Pinoy horror films we have already seen and known.

    1. Every Room is a Planet by Malay Javier

Every Room is a Planet tells the “quirky love story of a mentally-unstable girl, who thinks her husband has been abducted by aliens, and her brother-in-law.”

    1. Baka Bukas by Samantha Lee

This film tells the story of Alex and her struggles of confessing her feelings for her best friend, Jess who was an up and coming “artista”.

    1. Si Magdalola at ang mga Gago by Jules Katanyag

This film recounts the story of how a group of drug-dealing and sex-starved goons disturbed the lives of a frail old witch and her granddaughter.

    1. Malinak Ya Labi by Jose Abdel Langit

Malinak Ya Labi shows the custom of the people of Pangasinan when they are constructing a building. One day, a boy’s body is discovered at a town fiesta, causing a chain of stories and of deaths.

    1. 2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten by Petersen Vargas

This film tells the coming-of-age story of Felix, a high school achiever, and how his life changed when the Snyder brothers came into the picture.

    7. Tisay by Borgy Torre

Tisay tells the story of a bookie who recruited a promising player into the world of game-fixing.

C1 Originals will also be featuring the following full-length documentaries:

    1. Diary of Vietnam Rose: People Power Bombshell by John Torres
