The Ballet Manila School
Ballet Manila is one of the country’s major ballet companies founded and mentored by the ballerina of the people, Lisa Macuja-Elizalde. It is the only ballet school in the Philippines with direct links to the Russian Ballet Academy of St. Peterburg, Russia. The company’s ballerinas and danseurs are trained in the highest standards of classical ballet, based on the rigorous Russian Vaganova method.
The official Ballet Manila School opened its doors to 70 students during its summer workshop held in 1998. It is now permanently based in the Ballet Manila compound on Donada St., Pasay City. It aims to introduce ballet to the Filipino masses and incorporate this form of art into their daily lives.
