  • The 10th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition has done it again, proving that it is indeed the brightest show on earth. To cap off the competition, Poland’s Surex Firma Rodzinna and the Philippines’ Platinum Fireworks Inc. lit up the sky with spectacular colors.

During the last day of the six-week long competition, March 30, Poland’s Surex Firma Rodzinna presented their amazing show, perfectly synced with electronic dance music.

Earth hour was also celebrated when the clock struck 8:30 p.m. after Poland’s magnificent show. A short clip was presented to raise awareness on several environmental issues.

Finally, the Philippines’ Platinum Fireworks Inc. once again had a fantastic drone exhibition show just like during the opening of the competition. OPM classics like Anak, Manila, and Noypi were played, which made every Filipino attendee sing their hearts out.

It’s also the first time wherein an all OPM soundtrack was played, dedicated to the modern heroes especially the overseas Filipino workers.

The announcement of winners was also held on the last leg of the competition. Germany’s Steffes-Ollig Feuerwerke received the second runner up with an average of 95 percent. Meanwhile, first runner up went to France’s Brezac Artifices and United Kingdom’s Pyrotex Fireworx, with an average of 95.33 percent.

The grand winner was awarded to China’s Polaris Fireworks, with an average of 97 percent.

This year’s PIPC was held in SM City Clark instead of the traditional SM Mall of Asia to support the ongoing Manila Bay Rehabilitation Program. It happened for six consecutive Saturdays from February 23 to March 30, 2019.
