  • People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) recently launched a photo installation at a local coffee shop in Makati. Called “Dog Tales”, it presents some of the animals they have helped in their “Kapon/Ligation Immediately, Please” (KLIP) program. Aside from ligation, the program included basic veterinary care, which includes spaying and neutering. PETA came up with this program due to animal population’s worsening condition.

According to PETA’s campaigner, Jana Sevilla, kapon or ligation is a vital action that can possibly save cats and dogs from experiencing adversity and death caused by overpopulation. The exhibit aims to raise funds for the program, as they wanted to reach a wider range of animals around the country and make KLIP be known to the public.

Customers are encouraged to donate a minimum of Php 300 to the KLIP program and will receive basic coffee and tea beverage while those who will give Php 500 will receive any large beverage of their choice.
