Saddle up or cast off at Saddle Row in BGC
Stationary bikes aren’t exactly new. Throw in music, a huge group, and instructors to push you to your limit, and an indoor cycling class (or spinning) tips it towards something you can enjoy. Where can you go to experience this fitness trend? Good thing there’s Saddle Row in Serendra, Bonifacio Global City.
SADDLE UP OR CAST OFF? At Saddle Row, you can get an intense workout either by spinning or rowing.
Saddle Row opened back in November 2015 with the idea of bringing indoor cycling and rowing to the local fitness scene. Indoor cycling and rowing are recognized globally for giving an intense cardio and full body workout, but it’s not exactly a fixture in the popular fitness gyms.
Their three cycling programs (Resistance, Underground, and Exchange) were designed by National Cycling Team coach Chris Allison. The Underground is a combination of dancing and riding a bike: keep your feet pumping on the pedals while you move your upper body to the beat of the music and your instructor.
Want a tougher workout? Try The Resistance, where resistance bands are attached to the handlebars of your bike. This gives you a full body workout while doing your cardio at the same time.
Only in it for the indoor cycling? Try The Exchange, where you get to compete with other riders to hit targets set by your instructor. This class focuses more on cycling; it gives you a taste of what it feels like to train with the National Cycling Team.
Saddle Row wouldn’t be complete without Rowing, which they officially launched this year. The Boathouse offers three classes: Finesse (for beginners), Circuit (combination of cardio and strength full body workout ala Resistance), and Crew (team up with friends or other people at the Boathouse).
BIKE OR BOAT? You decide.
