LIST: 2020 National Women’s Month Events and Activities
March marks the month-long celebration of the National Women’s Month in the Philippines, which aims to recognize the women sector of the society and their countless contributions to its development.
This was put into law through the Presidential Proclamation No.227 Series of 1988 that declares the observance of the Month of March as Women’s Role in History Month and Republic Act No. 6949 Series of 1990 that marks March 8 of every year as National Women’s Day.
Every year, a handful of events are organized to celebrate the resilience, beauty, and wit of women, and it’s now time to don your best purple attire and join in the following events and activities for Women’s Month 2020!
Government Activities
Lead by the Philippine Commission on Women (PWC), this year’s celebration revolves around the theme “We Make Change Work for Women.” Various government agencies, local government units, universities, and private entities have events prepared to honor and commemorate women from all walks of life.
One of which is PWC’s very own “Serbisyo Para Kay Juana” where the commission partners with other organizations in the government to provide discounts and privileges for all pinays.
