LIST: Temporary Medical & Quarantine Facilities in Metro Manila for COVID-19 Patients

  • LIST: Temporary Medical & Quarantine Facilities in Metro Manila for COVID-19 Patients
  • As hospital after hospital in Metro Manila reach their maximum capacity due to the increasing number of people affected by the novel coronavirus or COVID-19, even non-medical establishments have now opened their doors to assist in the decongestion of hospitals.

    Listed below are some of the temporary medical facilities around the metro, both those already accepting patients and those that are yet to be converted:

    Quezon City University Complex

    Quezon City University Complex was previously the Quezon City Polytechnic University. It started accepting Persons Under Investigation (PUIs) last March 30 to help the local hospitals in tending to those affected by COVID-19.

    Involved individuals may coordinate with the city’s Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT) regarding patient transfers.

    Dahlia Hotel

    In a Facebook post by Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, it was disclosed that Dahlia Hotel has been converted into a quarantine facility that can hold 300 people at once.

    It is just one of the city’s many initiatives in containing the COVID-19 cases, particularly by providing an expanse for Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) and PUIs under strict supervision.

    Razon Group will take on the said construction and conversion of the Rizal Memorial Coliseum, the Ninoy Aquino Stadium (only for patients with mild symptoms), and the baseball field.

    PhilSports Complex

    Apart from these already-named establishments and expanses, it was also mentioned by Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles that the government is now on the process of identifying maritime vessels and hotels that are feasible medical facilities to further assist hospitals in caring for COVID-19 patients.
