  • LIST: Where To Stream Opera Shows for Free While in Quarantine
  • There are some activities that you temporarily won’t be able to enjoy for a while, especially if these involve being in public spaces due to the enhanced community quarantine. For theater and opera enthusiasts, this is absolutely bad news.

But don’t worry, we’ve listed various opera companies who have made some of their performances available online for free!

    Bayerische Staatsoper

An opera company based in Munich, Bayerische Staatsoper—also known as The Bavarian State Opera, is currently streaming their performance of Parsifal, Lucia Di Lammermoor and an orchestral concert for free until April 8, 2020.

Their other performances, which are often in demand, will be available for streaming after the given duration of the selected shows from their archives.

    Wiener Staatsoper

Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), even before the pandemic outbreak, already has a streaming service where its patrons can re-watch their favorite performances or explore new ones. Not only exclusive to theater acts, they also offer ballet performances for their viewers.

They broadcast different opera and ballet shows every day. They also offer a multilingual feature where subscribers can select from a range of six languages: English, German, Italian, French and Japanese when watching. Upcoming shows such as L’Elisir D’ Amore, Die Frau Ohne Schatten and many more will be made available on their website starting April 1.
