  • The country’s flag carrier, Philippines Airlines (PAL) and Smart Communications, Inc. established a partnership that will provide travelers will exclusive and co-branded tourist SIMs as they arrive at the country’s major airport.

    Launched on December 12, 2019, at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1, the Smart PAL Travel SIM is aimed to give travelers the experience of having a local SIM card that has convenient connectivity without hefty charges.

    The Smart PAL Travel SIM is a pre-loaded SIM that comes with 1 GB of open-access data, unlimited texts, and unlimited calls to Smart, TNT and Sun subscribers, valid for a day.

    When the SIM’s inclusions end, you can reload the SIM at any Smart store. You may also reload by buying a card online.

    The SIMs will be given to international passengers of select flights for free when they arrive at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Clark International Aiport, Cebu International Airport, Caticlan Aiport, and the Davao International Airport.

    Travelers will also be given in-flight vouchers for the SIM, which will be used to claim the free SIM at the Smart booths at airport arrival areas.

    Further, as a part of the partnership, Smart, Sun and TNT subscribers can expect exclusive seat sales and other promos with PAL. The aforementioned subscribers will also be given free access to PAL’s hotline, website, and application.

    “With this agreement, our friends from other countries who are visiting our islands can share their travel experiences while on-the-go using the Smart PAL Travel SIM on the Smart LTE network that we have put in place across the country,” PLDT Chief Revenue Officer and Smart President and CEO Alfredo S. Panlilio said.
