Witness the Best Works from Filipino Artists at ManilART 2019
The anticipated national art fair ManilART is here again to introduce the country’s rich story expressed through visual arts.
During the press conference held last September 20, ManilART discussed that this year will highlight on “Showcasing the Global Filipino Artist,” aligned with the National Commission for Culture and Arts 2019 theme for Museums and Galleries Month, “Building a Nation, One Exhibit at a Time.”
The press conference was attended by individuals from different media companies. It was initiated with the opening remarks from Fort Bonifacio Chairman George Bocobo, mentioning that Taguig has been part of the art fair for seven years now.
Head of NCCA’s Cultural Heritage Section Lawrence Charles Salazar, meanwhile, shared the cultural activities for the museum and galleries. These include regional art fairs in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao to promote the country’s rich culture.
They are also holding MindanaoArt, encouraging artists from Mindanao to develop a brand of their own art fair.
Further, Salazar pointed out the art fair’s vital role to the youth. “I’d like to underscore the importance of having art fairs especially in the light of education. It provides learning opportunity to the students and I’m so much delighted that ManilART expanded towards providing opportunities to the public,” he explained.
The program ended with a comprehensive talk from ManilART Fair Director Tess Rayos Del Sol, elaborating this year’s curated activities.
