  • September 5, 2019, marked another Culinaire edition in the calendar of SMX Convention Center. The exclusive event is one of the signature events of SMX Convention Center where long-time and new clients gather in one venue to taste and savor the food creations of the 15 caterers. This year’s theme, A Constellation of Culinary Wonders was inspired by constellations.

    15 accredited caterers competed for 7 awards but only 3 came out as winners:

    Best Table Centerpiece – Juan Carlo The Caterer
    Best Appetizer – Juan Carlo The Caterer (Scallop with Pastis Prado Wine)
    Best Main Course – Bizu Catering Studio (Smoked Beef Brisket with Chipotle Adobo Sauce on Carrot Mashtini)
    Best Dessert – The Creamery Catering (Champorado Brulee topped with Dilis and Pearl)

    The other caterers who also participated were Conrad Manila, Albergus, Hizon’s Catering, Josiah’s Catering, Event Shaker Mobile Bar, LJC Catering Service, Manila Catering, Tjioe The Caterer, Via Mare, M Catering and Fine Foods, Kitchen City and Goldilocks, the newest addition to SMX list of accredited caterers. Online voting by the guests was done during the program while Star of the Night award, an out of this world dish created entirely for the event, was judged by Anton Diaz of Our Awesome Planet, Lechon Diva Dedet de la Fuente and JJ Yulo of Pinoy Eats World.

    Culinaire is an annual culinary event held as a thanksgiving to clients and a showcase of the caterers’ food and set up. Part of the program also highlighted the upcoming SMX properties – SMX Olongapo in Q4 of this year. SMX Clark, the 2nd stand-alone property will open in Q3 2020, SMX Sta. Rosa in Q1 2021, SMX Iloilo in Q4 2021 and SMX Cebu, the 3rd stand-alone, in Q4 2022.

    The overall experience was made more exciting by a raffle draw of hotel gift certificates from partner hotels—Conrad Manila, Park Inn by Radisson Clark, Park Inn by Radisson Davao, Park Inn by Radisson North EDSA, Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo, Radisson Blu Cebu, Taal Vista Hotel and Pico Sands Hotel. Different Digital, Spin 360, Avolution, Photoman and Tom’s World added more appeal and excitement to the event as event sponsors.
