Comelec to Resume Voter Registration This August
Approximately two million new voters are expected as the Commission on Elections (Comelec) reopens registration from August 1 to September 30, 2019.
Local Offices of the Election Officers (OEOs) will be accepting new voter registrations for two months, including Saturdays and holidays.
The upcoming election is for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) position scheduled on the second Monday of May 2020.

The poll body reminds that current SK voters don’t need to re-register as their names will be automatically transferred to the regular list of voters when they turn 18.
In the Philippines, an applicant must be the following to register as a voter:
- A Filipino citizen
- 18 years old on or before Election Day
- A resident of the Philippines for at least 1 year
- A resident of the city/barangay where you intend to vote for at least 6 months before Election Day

- Transfer of Voter Registration Record
- Reactivation of Voter Registration Record
- Change of name due to marriage or court order
- Correction of entries in Voter Registration Record
- Name reinstatement in the List of Voters
- Inclusion of registration record in the Book of Voters
