The Japan Foundation Manila Library to Cease Operation Effective May 16, 2019

The Japan Foundation Manila, the country’s only institution dedicated to promoting cultural and arts exchange between Japan and the Philippines has announced that the JFM Library will permanently cease operation effective May 16, 2019.

The Japan Foundation Manila has been around the country for over 20 years, bridging gaps between Japan and the Philippines by providing Japanese language education, international studies, film festivals, and exhibits for over two decades. In 2007, they opened the Japan Foundation, Manila (JFM) Library to provide numerous Japanese and Filipino learning materials like books, magazines, newspapers, and audio-visuals in the country.

Unfortunately, The Japan Foundation Manila recently announced that the JFM Library will permanently cease operation effective May 16, 2019 (Thursday).

Meanwhile, the JFM office premises will undergo a renovation to provide more interactive learning and workplace for everyone in the future. The construction and the office are set to be finished by August 2019. Classes will not be affected and will still push through even after the closure of the library and the renovation of the office.
