C.P. Garcia Bridge and C-5 Flyover Repairs to Finish in 2020
Commuters and motorists, brace yourselves for heavier traffic!
The C-5 flyover and C.P. Garcia Bridge will be undergoing repairs until 2020. Said repairs already began last February 6, 2019.

The Pasig Command Center advised motorists to take alternate routes as the aforementioned bridges are in need of retrofitting and strengthening. These repairs will affect nearby cities such as Makati and Taguig.
In 2018, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) released a list of bridges in Metro Manila that need to be strengthened in the event of an earthquake. The allocated budget is for the retrofitting, rehabilitation, and replacement of at least 36 old bridges in 10 Metro Manila cities.

The C.P. Garcia Bridge is one of the bridges that received a budget allocation of Php 726.78 million from DPWH’s Php 1-billion budget for retrofitting in 2018.
Other bridges included in the repairs are Nagtahan Link Bridge 1 in Manila, Pasong Tamo Bridge in Makati, Quezon Bridge in Taguig, among others.
There are also bridges listed for major rehabilitation, such as the Nangka Bridges in Marikina City and the C5/Ortigas Interchange in Pasig City.
