A Genuine Oktoberfest at Solaire Resort and Casino
For us Filipinos, Oktoberfest usually means an endless supply of beer with performances by some of the country’s top acts. We also tend to limit it to just the month of October, though it does go around the country.
Germans, however, celebrate Oktoberfest a bit differently, and Solaire Resort and Casino bore witness to that as they celebrated their very first Oktoberfest.
An authentic German Oktoberfest is a bit similar to the popular San Miguel Oktoberfest, except they don’t use San Miguel Beer as well as limiting themselves just to free-flowing beer.
There was an unlimited supply of beer AND food (and yes, those glasses are filled with Weihenstephan lager and wheat)
including this delicious apple pie
which the crowd obviously loved
and dancing, a regular part of any authentic German Oktoberfest.
The band, who were flown in from abroad and are friends of Solaire’s F&B head, were as German as it got. They started off with a medley of songs you’d usually hear at an Oktoberfest celebration in Germany but later pumped out tunes such as 99 Red Balloons by Goldfinger (albeit in German).
The tent at Solaire’s Gallery was packed with over 100 guests, and that’s just from their opening night.
Solaire Resort and Casino’s Oktoberfest continues tonight and tomorrow night, with Saturday’s being the most-awaited one of them all.
You too can join in the festivities for only Php 2,999+ per person. See you at Solaire!
