Be sure to take a comfy jacket with you at the cinema because, besides the air-conditioning being cold, most of these films can make your hair stand on end and send chills up your spine.

    Tokyo Ghoul

    A film adaptation of the Japanese dark fantasy manga series with the same title, Tokyo Ghoul follows the story of Ken Kanaki, a college student in Tokyo who turned into a half-ghoul fugitive who must eat human flesh to survive.

    Renegades

    Showing Date: September 6

    Starring Australian actor Sullivan Stapleton, Renegades is an action thriller film about a group of Navy SEALs who discovered a lost treasure in a Bosnian lake amidst a war in Europe. They are confronted by enemies as they try to solve its mystery and return the treasure to its owners in 10 hours.

    Let Stephen King’s It terrify you once again with a new adaptation of this widely popular novel. Pennywise is a notorious evil clown in the town of Derry, Maine, with a centuries-long history of murder and violence which mainly involved children. He terrified us when we were kids; can you face it again?

    American Made

    Release Date: September 13

    American Made follows the escapades of Barry Seal (Tom Cruise), a hustler and pilot who was recruited by the CIA to run one of the biggest covert operations in the US involving guns, drug, and money laundering. All of this, unbelievably, is based on a true story.

    American Assassin

    Release Date: September 13

    This action thriller movie is an adaptation of a best-selling novel of the same name, written by Vince Flynn. The story focuses on Mitch Rapp, a counterterrorism agent who would work on a joint mission with a Cold War veteran and a Turkish agent to stop terrorists from starting a war in the Middle East.

    Mother!

    Release Date: September 20

    Mother! is a star-studded psychological horror film, with Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem starring as a couple whose relationship is tested by uninvited guests (played by Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer) in their tranquil country home.

    Kingsman: The Golden Circle

    Here’s the most awaited sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service! After the Kingsman headquarters in London was destroyed, the agents form an alliance with their US counterpart, Statesman, to fight their common enemy and save the world.

    The LEGO NINJAGO Movie

    Release Date: September 21

    The LEGO NINJAGO Movie is another highly anticipated movie this month! This new LEGO film is about the battle for NINJAGO City between the secret ninja warriors, including Lloyd, led by Master Wu and the evil warlord, Garmadon, The Worst Guy Ever, who’s also Lloyd’s father. Master Wu is voiced by Jackie Chan and the stunts were done by the kung fu expert himself.

    Flatliners

    Release Date: September 29

    In this sci-fi thriller, five medical students attempt to get a firsthand experience of the afterlife through dangerous experiments. They then become haunted by the paranormal consequences of this daring attempt.
