  • #WhenWithFilipinos: DOT releases new video promoting PH tourism
  • Department of Tourism has recently launched its newest tourism promotional video #WhenWithFilipinos during the Miss Universe coronation night held on Monday, January 30.

Video grabbed from nomadstreet on YouTube, original video posted in Department of Tourism’s Facebook page

The video, still under the “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” campaign, features travel blogger Jack Ellis offered food by a Filipina mother who calls him “anak” (my child). The location is set in the Enchanted River, in Surigao province. The one-minute ad “Anak” focuses on Filipino traits, particularly Filipino hospitality which is a new take on the 2012 It’s More Fun in the Philippines campaign.

As per Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo via Rappler’s report, the video was done with the suggestion of United Nations World Tourism Organization Secretary-General Taleb Rifai that the campaign should answer the question why it is more fun in PH. “Everybody has beaches. You can go shopping, you can eat anywhere in all places. But it’s the Filipinos. You are different and you have to show that. And so we focused on that,” said Teo.

More video campaigns will be shown in the country and in abroad in the future. The said ad campaign was produced by McCann Worldgroup Philippines.
