New mobile app allows users to file reports and submit incidents to the government
Cormant Technologies Inc. recently launched iReport, a mobile application that enables citizens to reach out to the government.
Through this app, users are able to report issues, submit suggestions, and recommendations to the government. The reports are filed according to their classification so it will be sent to the agencies, and address the problem as soon as they could. Some of the agencies that users can address to in filing a report are the following: Philippine National Police, Department of Labor and Employment, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, and Land Transportation Office.

iReport features an easy-to-use interface, so navigating through the application would be a breeze to those who do not really call themselves “techy”. The app also has an “offline mode,” so users would still be able to file their reports even without internet connection. The report will automatically be sent as soon as a connection has been established.
Alma Rivera, Enterprise Solutions Manager of Cormant, said that they encourage users to file their reports and grievances with iReport, instead of using social media. “Posts in Facebook or Twitter will most likely be noticed if it goes viral, but there is no need to wait for that to happen. With the use of iReport, your concerns and ideas will be forwarded to the proper authorities,” she added.
With iReport, the citizens are encouraged to be active especially in voicing out their opinions on the government. In turn, government agencies are also able to hear what the people have to say and address the issues that are reported to them.
iReport is available for download from either the App Store or the Play Store.
