  • Light Rail Manila Corporation announced on their Facebook page that they are launching the Postal ID LRT-1 Caravan 2018 for the months of October, November, and December. Only bring the requirements to either LRT-1 Roosevelt or Baclaran station to process and get your Postal ID from the Philippine Postal Corporation (PhilPost).

    For the Postal ID LRT-1 Caravan, applicants are asked to bring the following:

    • Two copies of the Postal ID application form downloadable here: https://bit.ly/2Nanyia,
    • Proof of Identity such as other government ID (Birth Certificate, GSIS/ SSS UMID Card, Driver’s License, Passport),
    • Proof of Address (Brgy. Clearance, Bank Statement, Utility Bill),
    • Marriage certificate for married women,
    • and Php 504 Postal ID fee.

    The stations participating in the caravan are limited to Baclaran LRT-1 Station in Taft Avenue Extension Cor. Park Avenue, Pasay City and Roosevelt LRT-1 Station in 1039 EDSA Ave., Bago Bantay, Quezon City. These are limited only for the days of September 27 to 29, October 18 to 20, and November 15 to 17, 2018.     The Philippine Postal ID is a valid government ID which is primarily used to assure safe and reliable transactions at the post office. To date, it is the easiest and fastest valid ID to obtain. It could also be used for other transactions that require a valid ID such as credit card application and licensure exams. Foreign residents living in the country for at least six (6) months may also apply.

    Currently, the security features the following:

    • On-site digital capture of fingerprints, photo, signature and personal details,
    • centralized ID printing and database to guarantee that the cards are authentic,
    • encrypted QR (‘quick response’) code printed on the card can verify the identity of ID holder using a downloadable smart-phone application,
    • overlaid with a hologram that can be viewed only at certain angles,
    • ghost image and UV ink that illuminates in UV light,
    • applicant uniqueness check via the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS). It compares the fingerprint collected with the fingerprint database records to ensure the applicant’s identity.
