  • Now on its 28th year, the Taipei International Food Show (TIFS), popularly known as ‘FOOD Taipei’, will feature 17 local companies from the Philippines at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei City, Taiwan on June 27 to 30, 2018.

    Spearheaded by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), FOOD Taipei is regarded as one of Asia’s leading food shows that connects all the food industry supply chains in Taiwan. The Department of Trade and Industry, through the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (DTI-CITEM), aims to strengthen the Philippines’ promotion of its top homegrown products and agri-commodities in Taiwan.

    People coming to Food Taipei include importers, wholesalers, distributors, hotel owners and representatives, restaurant and bakery owners and online retailers from major markets such as China, Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the US and Singapore.

    First time presenters like B&C Healthy Snack Foods, Inc., Century Pacific Food, Destileria Limtuaco & Co., Inc.,Fabaco Trading, John N’ Mico Food Products, Magical Blend Marketing International, Marigold Manufacturing Corporation, MFP Home of Quality Food Corp.Philippine Sea Wealth Food Incorporated, Super Q,  Team Asia Corporation, and Vegetari Vegetarian Products will be present on the event.

    Meanwhile, companies such as Andy Albao Corporation, Fruits of Life, Inc., Raw Brown Sugar Milling Co., Inc., Prime Fruits International, Inc., and Year Luck Food and Industrial Corp. will be returning to the show.

    Last year, Philippine food companies generated a massive amount of $23.4 million export sales in the event, surpassing its initial target of 22 million USD, and exceeding the previous 21.58 USD.

    Philippine products exported to Taiwan must always adhere to the requirements specified by Taiwan’s Food Safety and Sanitation Act, a new and improved food-safety system.  Products entering Taiwan must comply with their requirements for quality and package labeling.
