Gran Gala dei Salumi e Formaggi: A celebration of Italian Delicacies
On November 22, Wednesday, distinguished guests, expatriates, and honorable public officials joined a special gourmet night brimming with fine Italian specialties at the Gran Gala del Salumi e Formaggi held in Dusit Thani Manila.
The event, which was made possible by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Philipines (ICCPI), EU-Philippines Business Network and co-funded by the European Union, showcased the different Italian Geographic Origin Protected Cheeses in a glorious gala dinner.
The gala started with short messages delivered by notable guests, starting with Walter van Hattum of the Delegation of the European Union to the Philippines, DTI Undersecretary Ted Pascua of the Consumer Protection Group, Atty. Irma Morcillo of the Intellectual Property of the Philippines, and world-class restaurateur and Italian sommelier Paolo Nesi of the L’Opera Group.

Paolo Nesi led the event by providing a short background of each of the dishes served during the night. Each guest was served the best of Italy’s produce, paired with fine wines that perfectly complement the flavors and texture of the food.

Everyone got a taste of palatable Italian food, starting from their salads, to soup, salami selections, and dessert. The pleasant evening was also an opportunity for guests to get together with some of the prominent figures in the chambers of commerce in the Philippines as well as key players in the business industry.
