  • Miss Earth is an annual pageant searching not only the most beautiful woman across the world, but an outstanding woman with a great love not only for her home town but also through her strong advocacy to continuously save Earth.

Yoshinoya Philippines is known to be the home not only for comfort foods but to modern Japanese cuisine as well. Last October 20, 2017, Yoshinoya in Glorietta held a lunch out with some contestants for the Miss Earth 2017.  Through this lunch out, guests and local mall goers were able to have a sneak preview on the upcoming competition with the presence of some its lovely contestants from Belgium, England, Nepal, Belarus, Moldova, Russia, Slovenia, Belize, Canada, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Chile, Peru, Angola, Mauritius, Pakistan, Myanmar, Samoa, Chinese Taipei and, Japan.

Even before the actual event started, people started coming in and were in awe with the presence of the lovely candidates eyeing the crown of being Miss Earth 2017. Yoshinoya’s president Timothy Yap however marked the start of the lunch out through his opening remarks.

The lovely candidates had a very special dance number with their own renditions of the Baby Shark Dance and Despacito. Each candidate was called and were asked to introduce themselves after doing a catwalk while holding a Japanese paper umbrella. All the ladies presented themselves with pride while promoting the country they are from and the advocacy they are campaigning for.

Guests on the other hand were asked to pick their top 3 favorite candidates. Towards the end of the event, Ms. Peru was awarded 2nd place, Ms. Japan awarded the 1st place, and Miss Costa Rica was awarded as Yoshinoya People’s Choice award.

Miss Earth 2017 will be the 17th edition of Miss Earth pageant happening this coming November 4, 2017 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. It is where Katherine Espín of Ecuador will crown her successor at the end of the event and the outstanding candidate being named the new Miss Earth.
