Palawan: Still the Best Island in the World
Palawan is once again hailed as the world’s best island for the year 2017 by Travel + Leisure magazine. Palawan first held the top spot in the magazine’s list in 2013 and has reclaimed and retained the spot for two consecutive years since 2016.
Crystal clear waters, abundant aquatic life, untainted natural environment, and many other natural wonders—Palawan is such a gifted province, which is why people never get tired of raving about it. Palawan is home to one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, the Puerto Princesa Underground River. Some other world-famous attractions are the Coron Reefs, the Tubbataha Reef, El Nido, and—the friendly people. Palawan also topped the World’s Friendliest Islands list of Travel + Leisure this year.

Another Philippine island made it to World’s Best Islands list. Known for its white sand beaches, Boracay is in the third spot this year. The country’s summer capital also seems to always have a place in the list.
