  • February 14 will definitely be busy for some people out there! In the Philippines, the traditional way of celebrating the Heart’s Day is like most other countries – going out on dates and giving gifts to your significant other. It’s usually the gentlemen who make most efforts, but nowadays, it’s no problem if it’s both. This weekend, don’t be surprised to see flowers, stuffed toys, and chocolates being sold at every corner. Just to give you some ideas, here’s a list of prices and a few suggested places you can check out:

    Flowers. This beauty of nature is the most common gift you can give. Giving your girlfriend, mother or any female friend some flowers will surely make her smile. Here’s a few shops that might help you in getting that perfect bouquet of flowers.

    • Te Amo Floristeria (http://www.teamoflowers.com/ ) – Flowers in boxes, bundles, bouquets and custom arrangements, Te Amo Floristeria provides breath taking results that seem impossible to believe.     • Holland Tulips ( http://www.hollandtulips.com.ph/index.php ) – The world famous Holland Tulips has been around since 1996 and they have branches all over the metro and for these world famous Holland Tulips, you have to be prepared to spend 250 per stem or get one of their amazing bouquets that ranges from P2,850 to P9,050. Branches in Gateway Mall, Cubao and Glorietta 4, Makati and Podium, Mandaluyong City.

    • Market! Market! – A collection of flower shops can be seen and a selection of bouquets in the many shops can be bought in Market! Market! Located at McKinley Parkway. The mall offers a place for flower shops to display their works of floral art that are available to the public.

    • Dangwa – One of the most famous flower markets in the Philippines, Dangwa is located in Dimasalang Sampaloc, Manila. Flowers such as Sunflowers (P120 per stem), the ever famous Red Roses (P400 per bundle) and Pink Roses (P300 per bundle), Carnation (P180 per bundle) and Paper Roses (P650 per bundle) are on sale at the many flower shops in Dangwa.

     

    Chocolates. If flowers really aren’t your thing, then go for something for something. Chocolates can be pretty common too, but these specialty shops offer something unique.

    • Royce’s (https://www.royce.com) – Famous for their Nama Chocolates in Matcha, White and more, Royce’s is one of the most sought out chocolate shops in the metro.     • CMBV Confectionaries (https://www.cmbvconfectionaires.com/) – With chocolates such as Minted Calamansi, Salt and Pepper Caramel, Sencha Green Tea and many more, CMBV will surely make that special someone smile. Coming from the minds of Christian Valdez and Marvin Bagube they offer unique chocolate flavours with prices that range from P67 for individual pralines and P120 to P1,700 for boxes and their wave bars.

    Stuffed Toys. And if after all that flowers and chocolates, you still want that one little extra effort, a good old stuffed toy shall do the trick.
