  • Danish Brand Cocio Expands to the Philippines for its Asian Launch
  • Creating chocolate milk drinks since 1951, Denmark’s oldest and staple chocolate milk brand Cocio (pronounced as ‘Co-key-oh’) brings its presence to Asia and the sweet, exciting news is that the Philippines gets to have the first taste of the European favorite before the rest of the region does.

Cocio has been a hit in countries such as Denmark, Sweden, Norway, other parts of Europe, and the United States. And now, chocolate milk lovers in the Philippines will get to experience the Cocio brand of quality that is about two things – premium and natural ingredients, and first-rate processing. It brings sweet fineness in a drink that is as straightforward as its promise of “Nothing but Great Taste”.

A press conference was held on September 3 (Thursday) and the brand was received with warm anticipation by the media and other guests.

Arla Senior general manager Jens Krog and Fly Ace president Jun Cochanco at the Cocio launch, explaining why they love Cocio and its promise of Nothing but Great Taste.

Asked why they chose the Philippines as the first Asian country they tapped for their expansion in the region, Product Manager Jasmine Capule said that the Filipinos’ consumption of dairy products a day is increasing year by year and that the Filipinos are such lovers of sweets.

Models lead the excited crowd in doing “the shake” — which re-mixes the settled cocoa at the bottom of each additive-free and stabilizer-free bottle of Cocio.

And Filipino lovers of sweet goodness are bound to be delighted as the brand has recently made its way to the Philippine shores.

Jun Cochanco, President of FlyAce (Cocio’s local distributor) shares, “Cocio is undoubtedly the best chocolate drink in the market, and we think it’s about time we share it with the country.”

    Cocio Classic

The iconic Danish chocolate drink Cocio, officially launched in the Philippines on Sept.3, 2015 at Whitespace Manila.

To be made available in local supermarkets and convenience stores, the Classic Chocolate Milk, carrying the original taste since the first batch was made in 1951 consisting of raw milk, cacao (sourced from Cocio’s own farm in West Africa), and little sugar, can be enjoyed by Filipinos as a well-preserved tradition of chocolate and milk goodness in its purest form, without any additives.

The Philippines is also chosen as the launching ground for Cocio’s newest product, the Dark Chocolate Milk. The dark chocolate contains more cocoa compared to the Classic variant and is the first ever dark chocolate product of the Danish brand.

    Cocio Dark

Both all-natural, Cocio Classic hits Asia for the first time while Cocio Dark (featuring 67% more cocoa) is introduced for the first time ever.

So what makes Cocio all-natural as it claims to be?

The recipe they created back in 1951 and still use today has only 3 ingredients: milk, cocoa, and a little sugar, all of which are sourced from premiere suppliers around the globe. The milk is from Arla Foods, the world’s largest multi-national dairy cooperative owned by over 14,000 farmers; the plain sugar is from established sugar suppliers; and the cocoa are UTZ-certified from West Africa. So for those wanting a chocolate milk drink that is as luscious as it is healthy, Cocio hitting the Philippine stores calls for a sweet celebration.

Cocio product will soon be available in major grocery stores nationwide such as SM, Robinson and popular convenience stores such as 7-11 and Family Mart. The price range is from P60-P70.
