Expat’s GUIDE: P2P Bus Service in Metro Manila and Adjacent Provinces

One of the many ways the government has dealt with the ever-present traffic problem in Metro Manila is to introduce new ways of commuting. There are railways (LRT1, LRT2, MRT3), and trains (PNR), but one type seems to be reaping rewards: the P2P Bus Service.

Point-to-point (P2P) buses are very convenient, especially during rush hour when it’s almost impossible to get a comfortable ride. Gone are the days when you have to wait long for train rides such as MRT and LRT, or deal will crazy taxi meters and Grab surges.

When traveling from South to North of Metro Manila, P2P buses are highly recommended if you’re not familiar with the local transportation. You don’t have to suffer standing in a queue as the lines are very minimal to none. Rest assured that the bus interior is clean and cozy, too.

The routes, however, have confused many people (including Filipinos) as this type of commute is completely new. Buses usually have multiple stops, but the P2P Bus Service goes from one point to another, hence the name point-to-point or P2P.

Here’s our guide to the P2P Bus Service, including pick-up and drop-off points, schedules, and price:

Makati

As the Central Business District, it’s only natural that there will be point-to-point bus routes that start and end in Makati. The pick-up and drop-off points are placed in malls so that everyone can have access to them. Here are the routes and fares:

• Greenbelt 5 (Makati) to Alabang Town Center (Muntinlupa) and vise-versa.

Clark to NAIA P2P Buses

Decongesting Metro Manila involves more than just taking away the many vehicles that use her streets. Planes may take up a small patch of Paranaque City (i.e. the four terminals of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport), but the people who get off these planes take up space on Metro Manila’s streets, at times taking up one car per traveler.

Clark International Airport (CRK) solves this by having airlines fly to Clark, Pampanga instead of NAIA. Genesis Transport’s Clark to NAIA P2P Buses then take care of taking you from CRK to either NAIA 3 (if you’re staying around Resorts World Manila), Ortigas (specifically Robinson’s Galleria), and North EDSA Station (if you’re going anywhere around Quezon City).
