The Japan Foundation, Manila Presents “Harmony of Friendship: A Jazz Prelude to 70 Years of Japan-Philippines Ties”
In celebration of seven decades of diplomatic relations between Japan and the Philippines, The Japan Foundation, Manila proudly presents “Harmony of Friendship: A Jazz Prelude to 70 Years of Japan–Philippines Ties,” a special evening of music that highlights cultural exchange through the universal language of jazz.

Set to take place on January 22, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. (Open House at 6:00 p.m.), the event will be held at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, at the 4th floor, Tower II of RCBC Plaza in Makati City.
The program brings together gifted Japanese and Filipino musicians under the Tokyo–Manila Jazz Arts & Festival Group, showcasing vibrant jazz performances and soulful melodies that reflect shared histories, creative dialogue, and enduring friendship.
Through dynamic collaborations and expressive performances, the concert honors the strong people-to-people ties that have flourished between the two nations over the past 70 years—rooted in mutual respect, understanding, and cultural connection. Jazz, with its spirit of improvisation and harmony, serves as a fitting tribute to the evolving relationship between Japan and the Philippines.
