  • Outbreak Manila Releases the Zombies Again This October
  • Do you ever just want to run away from, well, life?

A 5-km run on a Halloween spirit-induced night may not literally help you run away from it, but it will probably help you divert your full attention to running for your lifewith zombies and all.

This 2019, zombies will yet again roam freely for Outbreak Manila, which is one of the slated activities on the October 26th run of the Haunted Manila Festival in Filinvest City Events Grounds, Muntinlupa City.

Outbreak Manila is deemed as the biggest zombie-infested event in the country, where the human-eating creatures come after the participants of the 5-km run in an attempt to refrain them from reaching the finish line alive.

This is how it works: before the race, everyone will be given a belt holding the three flags that symbolize the participants’ lives. During its entirety, zombies—who don’t simply walk as some of them even crawl and run—will be freed every 15 minutes beginning 9 p.m. to snatch those flags away.

Fear not, though, as these zombies are not allowed to have physical contact with you apart from reaching out to get ahold of your flags.

Shall they be completely acquired by the zombies, participants may still finish the race—however, they will be as good as dead. But this does not turn you into a zombie so don’t run after those who are still alive!

Meanwhile, those who are able to have even one flag remaining safely tucked get a special dog tag as a reward for successfully getting past the zombies.

You also better come clad in your most extra Halloween costume, because this will definitely maximize your experience as well as make you eligible for winning a prize.
