LIST: Movies to Watch This October 2019
It’s time to get the popcorn ready because a roster of new thrilling films is taking over the Philippine cinemas this month! From an award-winning film to numerous movie sequels, October is surely bringing us something to rave about.
Here’s a list of the much-anticipated movies to watch this October:
Joker (October 4)
A much-awaited origin story of Gotham’s most notorious and sadistic criminal, Joker is an American psychological thriller film that follows Arthur Fleck, a mentally-ill failed stand-up comedian, as he transforms into the criminal mastermind. The film recently made rounds at the 76th Venice International Film Festival, where it won the festival’s highest prize, the Golden Lion.
Gemini Man (October 9)
Returning to the big screen is Will Smith with his new film, Gemini Man. It follows a thrilling action story of a retiring government hitman who is being targeted by a younger clone of himself.
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (October 16)
A sequel to the 2014 dark fantasy film Maleficent, Angelia Jolie is back to portray everyone’s favorite villain in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. Set five years after the first film, Maleficent and Aurora’s peaceful life in Moors takes an unexpected turn when Prince Phillip’s mother plans to divide humans and fairies forever through the couple’s wedding, which takes them to an impending war.
Zombieland: Double Tap (October 23)
Zombieland: Double Tap is a much-awaited sequel to the comedy zombie film Zombieland, which premiered 10 years ago. This time, zombie slayers Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita, and Little Rock are back to fight against the newly evolved undead with new survivors to add to their group.
The Addams Family (October 30)
As the first family of Halloween, The Addams Family takes on the big screen in their first animated comedy film as they move to a new neighborhood in New Jersey. The family face off against an arrogant and sly reality TV host while preparing for their extended family to arrive for a major celebration.
Terminator: Dark Fate (October 30)
A direct sequel to the Terminator movie franchise, Terminator: Dark Fate is set 27 years after the events on Terminator 2: Judgement Day. It follows Sarah Connor, Terminator, and a hybrid cyborg human as they protect a young girl from a newly modified liquid Terminator sent from the future.
