Korean Architectural Film Festival
Architecture and film have been integrated by the Korean Cultural Center for almost 10 years through the Seoul Architectural Film Festival. Maintaining its long-established relationship, Korea and Philippines will now be able to share the course of this event.
For the first time, this three-day event will take place in the Philippines, and has been dubbed the Korean Architectural Film Festival, happening at Cinematheque Centre Manila in Ermita. From June 1-3, 2018, get a pass to watch feature-length and short films from Korea and Philippines and more about architecture.
As its first overseas staging, the event will be filled with various activities such as forums related to architecture, discussions, films, and photo installations. The forum will be on June 1 at 4 pm and June at 2 pm. The first day will talk about Architecture, Urbanism and Film: Another Mode of Living while the second day covers the Modern Condition in Korea and Philippines: City, Architecture and Film.
Those who will attend the seminar on day two are in luck as La Salle-College of St. Benilde’s School of Design and Arts Dean Gerry Torres and famed Filipino writer/director Jose Javier Reyes will join the panel.
Korean films Ecology in Concrete, City:Hall, The Architecture of Time, and Korean Architecture Today: The House will be shown along with two Filipino films: Arkitekturang Filipino and Master Builders: Pioneers of 20th Century Philippine Architecture and Allied Arts.
Photographs from The Museum of Photography in Seoul will also be on display. If you’re feeling peckish after the films, enjoy the chimaek or chicken and beer party after film screenings! Admission to film screenings is free of charge. For more information, visit phil.korean-culture.org.
Visit Korea through these never-before-seen films only in the Philippines!
