  • Relive Malate in Malate Moderne Tour
  • We love and know Malate as a district in Manila that oozes with urban entertainment, from restaurants and novelty stores to clubs and street parties. It is, however, also filled with historical footprints, which are especially manifested in the structures that have been standing here even before clubs sprang up.

Malate is also rich in history. In photo: Malate Chuch.

Discover this other side of the district in Malate Moderne: A 1930’s Art Deco Architecture Walk, wherein you can join a study tour that will let you explore the historic neighborhood of Malate through a selection of 1930’s Art Deco buildings.

By joining the tour, you will learn about the signature modernist style of Commonwealth-era structures, visit Art Deco-style homes, hidden chapels, apartments, a jewel-box theater, and have a peek at Manila’s only Art Deco style sports complex.

Relive this Manila district in Malate Moderne.

The fee for this 3-hour tour is Php 1,500, inclusive of lunch. The tour will be led by Ivan Man Dy, one of the leading tour guides of Manila.

This study tour is a part of the Arkitektura Festival 2017 that is happening from August 24 to 27 in Manila.
