Happening on June 17 at the Cinematheque Centre Manila, the film festival will feature short and documentary films that tackle gender, justice, peace, and its importance to the current situation and struggle of members of the LGBT Community in the Philippines.

Bahaghari is still accepting film submissions until May 31. Everyone is allowed to join as long as the film’s concept is in accordance or with relation to the festival’s theme. Amongst the themes  are gender discrimination, coming out, gender identity, class, justice, and labor, and HIV and health. For more information, you can shoot them an email at bahagharimetromanila@gmail.com.

If you wish to watch this year’s film entries, just visit Cinematheque Centre Manila in Ermita on June 17, Saturday. Film screenings will start from 10:00am to 9:00pm. Admission is free.

Bahaghari believes that genuine equality could only be attained in a society that is truly free, democratic, and just. They thus seek to build the broadest unity of the LGBT people in order to uphold their rights, advance sectoral interests, and work for the realization of  democratic aspirations.
