  • The Embassy of France to the Philippines celebrates International Women Day, March 8
  • In celebration of the 70 years of diplomatic relations between France and the Philippines, the Embassy of France to the Philippines organized an event to commemorate the International Women Day as part of the “PhilFrance: Feel French !” festival on Wednesday March 8, 2017 at the Alliance Française of Manila, Makati City.

The event was attended by women from the fields of politics, culture and the arts, education, economy and science, as well as those from the underprivileged sectors of society, who were honored during the special function.

“But what is most important here is that if women’s rights are shared values, they are also, above all else, a common goal. March 8, unlike May 8, is not a day to commemorate the end of a long war. Despite a narrowing gap between men and women, we have not yet reached equality and the struggle continues. The fight against gender stereotypes are still firmly established in our society. The evolution of gender relations in a society is a long-term process since it is nothing less than changing values.” – Charlotte Saudin, Political Attaché

The room was also field with angelic voices as the young ladies of Virlanie Choir performs on the stage.

Singer Alienette, finalist of France’s Got Talent also gave an outstanding singing performance.

The night was ended with a film showing with Maïwenn’s Les Bal Des Actrices.
