PR: New World Hotels & Resorts holds golf cup 2016

New World Makati Hotel and New World Manila Bay Hotel held the inaugural New World Hotels & Resorts Golf Cup on Friday, 7 October 2016 at the Ayala Greenfield Golf and Leisure Club.  A joint corporate social responsibility effort of the sister properties, the Golf Cup was opened to participating partners and clients of the hotels and attracted 43 golfers.

A ceremonial tee off signaled the start of the competition at 8 a.m.  Participants enjoyed a day on the green while completing an 18-hole golf course.  A celebratory lunch and awarding ceremony followed, where New World Makati Hotel’s General Manager Farid Schoucair and New World Manila Bay Hotel’s General Manager Mark Heywood congratulated the players on their performance and proclaimed the top three winning placers from each category.

Tournament winners of the Class A Division include Captain Tsumoto Harada as the proclaimed Champion, followed by Marco Olives as the First Runner-up and Captain Jimmy Boado as the Second Runner-up.  For the Class B Division, Kok-Hin Lin was awarded the Champion, followed by Mari Imperial as the First Runner-Up and Mario Oca as the Second Runner-Up.  For the Class C Division, Patrick Guzman emerged as the Champion, followed by Satoshi Koyama as the First Runner-Up and Ed Leyson as the Second Runner Up.  In the Ladies’ Division, Frey Lee was recognized as the Champion.

 

Plaques of appreciation were presented to all sponsors of the charity golf tournament.  Proceeds of the Golf Cup will be donated to the ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, Inc.

The Golf Cup is New World Hotels & Resorts’ second sports-centered fundraising program initiated for fitness and lifestyle enthusiasts in the Philippines, following the successful Run and Raise charity fun runs.  New World Hotels & Resorts actively initiates activities to support and give back to local and global communities through a number of ways, including support for disaster relief operations, education and child care services, and environmental efforts.
