In an article published by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), the E-Vehicle project will initially be implemented in Intramuros, Manila with 50 units of e-trikes and 17 sets of charging stations which are set to operate in fixed routes and stops. This project is also set to run for two years, starting October until September 2018.

According to Board of Investments (BOI) Executive Director Ma. Corazon Halili Dichosa, the goal is to make “Philippines a manufacturing hub in Southeast Asia,” as per Inquirer’s report. Dichosa also added that the government is working with Land Bank of the Philippines and the Development Bank of the Philippines to help potential operators in tapping manufacturers.

According to Trade Undersecretary and BOI Managing Head Ceferino Rodolfo, this will help Philippines as a technology-enabled country.
