UP is back on the list of World’s Top 400 Universities
The country’s premier research state university system, University of the Philippines (UP), is once again back in the list of world’s top 400 universities.

Ranking 374th in the list released on Tuesday by London-based Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), UP has resurfaced again making it the lone Philippine university to have entered the top 400.
In 2015, UP placed in the 401st to 410 ranking. Other Philippine universities which made it to the list are Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) at the 501 to 550 bracket, and De La Salle University (DLSU) and University of Santo Tomas (UST) at the 701+ bracket.
National University of Singapore (NUS) placed the highest in the 12th spot for Asian institutions, while Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston is still the top-ranking university for five years in a row.
QS is the world’s leading network for “ranking international standard identifying excellence and diversity among the world’s universities.” Included in their research are 3,800 universities, among 916 of which are ranked.
