    Manila, Philippines – The TMJAF Press Conference was held at the Teriyaki Boy, Glorietta, Makati on Wednesday, September 17. Some of the popular Filipino musicians like Sitti, Boy Katindig, Bratpack, Mel Villena, and Moy Ortiz were present to grace the event.

    Tokyo-Manila Jazz Arts Festival is an annual event that continues to focus on the cultural exchange and artistic collaboration between Japan and the Philippines. It aims to serve as a conduit linking both cultures through music and other allied art forms.

    This year will be an exciting one for both Filipino and Japanese fans as they take Jazz into a new level of entertainment. There will be a lot of surprises in this year’s festival as it endeavour to bridge music to all generations. Among the roster of Filipino Jazz Musicians are Charito, Boy Katindig, Sitti, AMP Band, The Company, Extrapolation, Bratpack, and the Philippine Youth Symphonic Band. The festival will also feature Japanese artists like Yuki Arimasa, Juasa Kanoh, Benisuke Sakai, Hisatsugu Suzuki.

    The Tokyo-Manila Jazz and Arts Festival will kick off with a pocket show entitled “Special Evening of Jazz” at the Raffles Long Bar Hotel on October 17 at 8:30 p.m., followed by the “Main Festival Concert” at the Rockwell Tent on October 18 at 7:30 p.m. and will culminate with a free concert dubbed as the Young Artists Jam with TMJAF at the Ayala Greenbelt 5 on October 19 at 7:30 p.m.

    “Tokyo Manila Jazz and Arts Festival focuses on the cultural exchange and the artistic collaboration between Japan and the Philippines. The collaboration aims to inspire and trigger innovation from both sides on multiple levels,” says Maja Olivares-Co, Executive Producer and Co-Founder of the 2014 Tokyo Manila Jazz and Arts Festival.
