  • Let the games begin: Filipino netizens react to #CHexit
  • With the Permanent Court on Arbitration issuing an award in favor of the Philippines, Filipinos both here and abroad have taken to Twitter and Facebook to say their piece about the monumental decision.

Some even made a cartoon out of it:

One of the more popular posts though is the one from upcoming movie Camp Sawi (Camp Ill-fated):

    camp sawi

EVEN FILMS ARE IN ON THE ACT. Camp Sawi, an upcoming film, posted this on their Facebook page. It says “At least the West Philippine Sea was fought for.”

And this one, which has seen its time on both Twitter and Facebook:

Known personalities (politicians, journalists, celebrities) have also shared their thoughts on the subject.

Gretchen Ho is a TV show host for ANC and a former volleyball star for Ateneo De Manila University.

Tonyo Cruz is a blogger and columnist for the Manila Bulletin.

Sharwin Tee is the host of Lifestyle TV’s Curiosity Got the Chef.

Ces Drilon-Oreña is a news anchor for ANC and ABS-CBN’s late-night newscast Bandila.

A tweet from Senator Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV.

Lately, a new side of this topic has risen: who to thank for this success? Most people argue that it’s a victory that should be claimed by the former administration, but a lot of President Rodrigo Duterte’s supporters are already claiming it was Duterte that landed us this win.

Like this one, which seems to have struck a nerve with a lot of people.

A lot of people cited this tweet by @elainecedillo to “give credit where credit is due.”

Concerns have also been raised as to our next move after this monumental decision.

Veteran journalist Ces Oreña-Drilon said it best.
