Uniqlo bags top foreign brand retailer award from DTI and PRA
The wave of international brands is indeed upon us as Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo won at the 19th Outstanding Filipino Retailers & Shopping Centers of the Year (OFR-SCY) Awards.

Uniqlo bested other foreign brands as it bagged the award for Foreign Brand Retailer in the large category. Uniqlo has been in the country since 2013 and has been on a surge thanks to its quality products sold at affordable prices.
SM Megamall was elevated to the OFR-SCY Hall of Fame as one of the country’s pioneers in the Filipino fascination for malls. The SM Group likewise led the way at the 19th OFR-SCY, with several of its subsidiaries being elevated to the Hall of Fame in their respective categories. These include the following:
• Surplus Shop – Large Fashion Apparel
• Pet Express – Medium Specialty Retailer
• SM Hypermarket – Hypermarket category
• Save More – Supermarket category
Ace Hardware also received an award in the Foreign Brand Specialty Retail – Home Improvement Center category.
The Philippine Retailer’s Association seeks to recognize successful Filipino retailers every year at their OFR-SCY awards. The Shopping Centers of the Year category was added in 2002 to recognize the role played by the country’s shopping centers in promoting growth and development of the local retail industry.
